Standard Cleaning vs. Deep Cleaning: Which Does Your Columbus Home Need?

A standard clean maintains a home that is already in manageable condition. A deep clean addresses more detailed buildup and selected tasks beyond routine maintenance. The right choice depends on the property's condition and the work listed in the approved quote—not simply how long it has been since the last appointment.

The labels sound simple, but two homes can need very different work. A regularly maintained apartment may be ready for a standard clean. A larger home with accumulated residue, detailed baseboard work or an inside-oven wipe-down may need a deep clean. Rejuv Cleaning reviews the property information before the office issues a written quote.

What is a standard clean?

A standard clean is designed for recurring or routine household maintenance. It focuses on accessible, commonly used surfaces rather than restoration, remediation or an open-ended list of detail work.

Typical standard-clean work may include:

• kitchen counters, backsplash, sink, cabinet fronts, appliance exteriors, stovetop, microwave and accessible floors;
• toilets, tubs or showers, glass, sinks, mirrors and bathroom floors;
• reachable dusting, mirrors, high-touch points and accessible bedroom and living-area floors;
• cobweb removal, trash handling and accessible floors throughout agreed areas; and
• accessible floor edges vacuumed or detailed by hand.

Baseboards are visually checked and obvious condition is flagged during a standard clean. Routine baseboard cleaning, wall washing, blind detailing, cabinet interiors, interior windows, appliance interiors, heavy mineral-scale removal, detailed grout restoration and heavy furniture moving are not automatically included.

Hand-washing dishes, unloading a full dishwasher and managing large quantities of dishes are not included in a standard clean. When an empty dishwasher is available, a reasonable number of dishes may be loaded so the sink can be cleaned. Otherwise, dishes may be moved carefully to a nearby safe area so the sink can be cleaned.

What makes a deep clean different?

A deep clean adds agreed detail work for a home that needs more than routine maintenance. It is not a promise to perform every task excluded from a standard clean. Some work is a separate service, requires a revised quote or is outside ordinary cleaning altogether.

Deep Clean scope includes interior-window cleaning and may address heavier buildup and detailed tasks such as baseboard cleaning or an inside-oven wipe-down. Cabinet fronts and backsplash are already part of Standard Clean; a Deep Clean may involve more detailed work on those surfaces when the approved quote calls for it. Refrigerator-interior cleaning is not automatic Deep Clean scope. It is included only when listed in the approved quote or when it is part of an applicable move-in or move-out scope.

Window tracks, cabinet interiors and appliance interiors other than the quoted inside-oven wipe-down should never be assumed. The written quote identifies what is included for the booking.

How to choose the right service

Choose a standard clean when

• the home has been maintained on a reasonable schedule;
• surfaces are accessible and buildup is moderate;
• you want routine kitchen, bathroom, dusting and floor care; and
• you do not need extensive detail work.

Ask about a deep clean when

• the home has not had a thorough professional cleaning recently;
• buildup requires more time and detail than routine maintenance;
• baseboards or an inside-oven wipe-down are important to you; or
• you want a stronger starting point before recurring service.

The office may recommend a different scope after reviewing the home's size, current condition, access and requested tasks.

What neither service automatically includes

Ordinary cleaning does not include biohazard remediation, active mold remediation, hazardous-material handling, unsafe ladder work or work that cannot reasonably be performed safely. Permanent staining, deterioration, pre-existing damage and conditions that cleaning cannot reasonably correct are also different from missed cleaning work.

Specialty services and add-ons must be listed in the approved quote. A request made directly to a cleaning professional does not change the scope.

How Rejuv Cleaning quotes the work

Only the Rejuv Cleaning office may issue or revise prices and quotes. Cleaning professionals do not set prices, sell additional services, collect deposits for new work or independently change an approved scope.

The office reviews the information you provide and prepares a written quote. If the property condition or requested work materially differs from that information, the office will explain the difference and issue a revised written quote before additional paid work is performed. No material scope change or additional charge is made without client approval.

The approved quote also states the applicable price, deposit and payment schedule. Rejuv Cleaning does not publish a one-size-fits-all price because the necessary time and scope vary by property.

Preparing for the appointment

Provide safe and timely access, including keys, entry codes, parking details and building authorization. Remove obstacles that prevent reasonable access, identify fragile or damaged surfaces, disclose product restrictions and safely contain pets when necessary.

If safe or lawful access is unavailable, service may be delayed, rescheduled or limited to safely accessible areas. Any cancellation, rescheduling, deposit or lockout condition that applies must be disclosed on the approved quote; a booking-specific condition not stated there is not added afterward.

If an agreed-scope area is missed

If something in the agreed scope is missed, tell us within 24 hours by phone, text, email or the customer portal. We will review the concern and arrange a reasonable re-clean of missed, agreed-scope areas at no additional charge.

The re-clean process does not apply to work outside the approved scope, pre-existing damage, ordinary wear, permanent staining, deterioration or conditions that cleaning cannot reasonably correct.
