Move-In Cleaning in Columbus: What to Arrange Before You Unpack
A move-in clean prepares accessible, agreed areas before belongings fill the home. The property condition, available time and requested detail work determine the scope. Cabinet or refrigerator interiors, an inside-oven wipe-down and other detailed tasks should be confirmed in the approved quote instead of assumed from the words “move-in cleaning.”
Cleaning before boxes and furniture arrive can make floors, cabinets and empty rooms easier to reach. It also gives the client a chance to identify damage, permanent staining or repair needs that cleaning cannot correct.

Why timing matters
The strongest window is usually after the prior occupant's belongings are removed and before the new household moves in. That is not always possible, so tell the office:
- when lawful access begins;
- when movers, contractors or deliveries are scheduled;
- whether utilities are working;
- whether the home will be empty, partly furnished or occupied; and
- which rooms must be completed first.
Rejuv Cleaning will use the available information to quote and schedule the agreed work. A specific date or service window is not confirmed until the office confirms it.
Build the scope around the actual condition
A move-in label does not establish a universal checklist. A recently maintained apartment can need less work than a vacant home with residue inside cabinets or appliances. Photographs and accurate details help the office understand the condition before preparing the quote.
Discuss kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, accessible floors and any empty storage areas that matter. Identify surfaces requiring special handling and disclose damaged fixtures, fragile finishes, hazards or product restrictions.

Cabinet and appliance interiors
Interior work should be written down clearly. Refrigerator-interior cleaning is included only when listed in the approved quote or applicable move-in or move-out scope. An inside-oven wipe-down may be part of an appropriate quoted scope. Cabinet interiors, window interiors or similar detail work should also be confirmed rather than assumed.
Permanent staining, deterioration, pest contamination, active mold, biohazards and hazardous materials are not ordinary cleaning conditions. Repairs and remediation require the appropriate provider.

What the client should prepare
Before the appointment:
- provide safe and timely access, including keys, codes, parking details and building authorization;
- confirm working water, electricity and reasonable climate control where required;
- remove belongings or obstacles that prevent access to agreed areas;
- identify fragile, damaged or special-care surfaces;
- secure valuables, documents, medication and weapons; and
- coordinate movers, contractors and deliveries so they do not interfere with the cleaning window.
If another trade creates dust or debris after cleaning, that later condition is not missed work from the earlier appointment.
Quote, pricing and scope changes
Only the Rejuv Cleaning office may issue or revise prices and quotes. Cleaning professionals do not set prices, sell additional services, collect deposits for new work or independently change an approved scope.
The approved quote states the specific work, price, deposit and payment schedule. If the property condition or requested work materially differs from the information provided before approval, the office will explain the difference and issue a revised written quote before additional paid work is performed. No material change or additional charge is made without client approval.
Access, lockouts and delays
Move-in schedules can involve landlords, property managers, elevators and key exchanges. Confirm access before the service window.
If safe or lawful access is unavailable, the service may be delayed, rescheduled or limited to safely accessible areas. Any cancellation period, rescheduling charge, deposit condition or lockout charge applicable to the booking must be disclosed on the approved quote. A booking-specific condition not stated there will not be added afterward.
Contractors and incident documentation
Rejuv Cleaning works with screened independent cleaning professionals. Each contractor is required to maintain their own applicable insurance coverage and provide current documentation before accepting assignments. Contractors are not covered under Rejuv Cleaning's insurance policy.
Reasonable photographs may be taken to document pre-existing conditions, access issues, completed work, safety concerns or reported incidents. These service records are not used publicly for advertising without separate permission.
If an agreed-scope task is missed
If something in the agreed scope is missed, tell us within 24 hours by phone, text, email or the customer portal. We will review the concern and arrange a reasonable re-clean of missed, agreed-scope areas at no additional charge.
The client must provide a reasonable opportunity for the re-clean. The process does not apply to outside-scope work, pre-existing damage, ordinary wear, permanent staining, deterioration or conditions cleaning cannot reasonably correct.
Request a move-in cleaning quote
Share the Columbus-area property address, condition, access date, moving timeline and priority tasks. The Rejuv Cleaning office can prepare a written quote that shows exactly what is included.
Request a quote, review the move-in and move-out cleaning service, the standard cleaning checklist or the service terms and policies.
