Airbnb Cleaning Services in Columbus: The Host's Turnover Guide
A turnover clean is the full reset of a short-term rental between guests: cleaning, fresh linens and beds, restocking of host-supplied essentials, staging, trash reset and photo-documented damage reporting. Airbnb cleaning is generally quoted per turnover based on the approved scope, and most quotes are sent within one business day after the office receives enough property and scope information.

What is a turnover clean, and how is it different from a house clean?
A house clean serves the people who live there. They know where the spare towels are. They forgive a missed corner.
A turn serves a stranger who walks in a few hours later with a phone. Nothing is forgiven, and it all gets scored. That gap drives the whole scope.
Three things make short-term rental turnover cleaning its own service. Guests expect the unit to hit the same standard on each turn, not an average over a month. Beds and linens are part of the job, not an extra. And someone has to check the place for damage before the next guest walks in.
There is also a hard clock. A house clean can run a little long and no one minds. A turn that runs long crashes into a check-in.
The 12-step Columbus turnover sequence
This is the order we work in. How long each step takes depends on unit size, bathroom count, the laundry arrangement, the condition guests leave behind, the staging and restocking you ask for, your checkout-to-check-in window, and the approved scope. We confirm the time your unit needs when the office scopes the quote, before you set your check-in window.
- First walk and photos. Walk the unit before you touch a thing. Take photos of any damage, stains or missing items first.
- Strip beds and bath linens. It all comes off, plus mattress covers if they are marked.
- Bag or start the laundry. In-unit washers start now, so the wash runs while we clean.
- Trash, recycling and left items. Bins out and trash reset. Clearing guest-left food and logging left items are included when the approved scope lists them.
- Kitchen reset. Sink, counters, cooktop and microwave. Dishes are handled according to the approved scope; large quantities of dishes and hand-washing are not automatically included. Refrigerator-interior work and extras such as coffee-maker detailing are included when the approved scope lists them.
- Bathrooms. Toilet, shower or tub, glass, mirror, fixtures, floor, then restock paper and soap.
- Bedrooms and beds. Fresh linens on, mattress covers checked, dusting done, mirrors wiped.
- Living areas. Dust, wipe tops, and vacuum sofas and chairs, plus remotes. Under-cushion work is included when the approved scope lists it.
- High-touch points. Door handles, light switches, lock keypads, railings and appliance handles.
- Floors. Vacuum it all, then mop the hard floors last so nothing gets tracked.
- Restock supplies. Paper, soap, trash liners, dish tabs, coffee, and the welcome items you supply, restocked per your approved scope.
- Stage and complete the final walk. Cushions, towels, lights and thermostat set where those tasks are included in the approved scope. Completed-turn or staged photographs are sent only when included in that scope.
The 12-step turnover sequence Rejuv Cleaning follows in Columbus units.
How long the visit runs depends on the unit, not on a standard clock. Bathrooms, the kitchen and floors are the steps with the most work in them. The office confirms the time your unit needs as part of the quote.
Step one earns its place. A cleaner who wipes before taking photos loses the record of how the unit was found.

How much time do you need between guests?
The window between checkout and check-in is set by your booking calendar. Whether your window fits depends on unit size, bathroom count, the laundry arrangement and the condition guests leave behind. Tell the office your checkout and check-in times when you ask for a quote, and we confirm whether the window works before you accept bookings.
If your window is tight, the fix is linens more often than labor. Laundry runs on the wash cycle's clock, and spare sets on site take it off the clock for good.

Who supplies the linens and the consumables?
Both ways work in Columbus. Pick one and stick to it, because mixing them is where turns go wrong.
Host-supplied linens
You keep sets on site and the cleaner swaps and launders them in the unit. Par level means how many full sets you keep on hand. Keeping several full sets per bed — one on the bed, one in the closet, one in the wash — makes tight windows easier. A single spare set leaves no margin on a back-to-back booking.
Other arrangements
The approved quote states how linens are handled: laundered in the unit, managed by you, or handled through another separately agreed arrangement. Whatever the arrangement, it belongs in writing before the first turn.
Supplies follow the same logic. You supply the essentials and the quote states who stocks them. What matters is that one side owns it in writing.

What your cleaner should report before the next guest arrives
A turn is a check as well as a clean. Your cleaner is the only person who sees the unit between guests. That report is your only record.
Photographs document visible damage or lost items identified during the turnover. Completed-turn, inventory or staged-unit photographs are provided only when included in the approved scope, and so are low-stock notes and repair flags, like a slow drain or a dead bulb.
A damage photo documents the condition before cleaning begins, and it is worth having before the next guest arrives.

How same-day and back-to-back bookings are handled
Back-to-back means one guest out and the next one in on the same day. Same-day turnovers are scheduled when possible, and they are planned work, not a rush job.
The approved quote and confirmed schedule state the service timing, access requirements and whether the requested checkout-to-check-in window can be accommodated. Linens ready before checkout are what make the plan hold.
Tell us your checkout and check-in times when you book, and we will tell you whether we can turn the unit in that window. The more notice we have, the firmer an answer we can give.

What belongs in your guest-facing cleaning fee
Copying the fee from a listing down the street is the quickest way to set one. But that number was priced for their unit, not yours.
Your fee should match what the turn holds: cleaning labor, linen handling, supplies, trash removal, and anything specific to your listing, such as travel time or peak-date work. This is host budgeting, not a Rejuv Cleaning charge sheet — a booking-specific charge applies only if it is disclosed in the approved quote.
Two questions help. Does the fee cover what the turn actually holds? And does it look reasonable next to your nightly rate? A fee set well below the real cost forces something in the scope to give.

Long stays need a different clean
A 30-day booking is not a long turn. It is a whole other job.
Month-long guests cook more, do laundry, and use the unit as a home. Soil builds up in spots a turn never reaches: inside the oven, vents, baseboards and grout.
After a long stay, the unit needs a reset before it goes back into nightly bookings. Our one-time reset cleans between long stays page covers what that includes.

Where we turn units in Columbus
We turn units near downtown, in the Short North and Italian Village, around the campus area, and in the suburbs.
Our Short North, German Village and downtown coverage lists the full service map, including German Village. Older buildings with original wood and tile change floor care, not the order of steps.
Common questions
How much time do you need between a guest checkout and the next check-in?
It depends on unit size, bathroom count, the laundry arrangement and the condition guests leave behind. Spare linens on site make tight windows far easier, since laundry otherwise runs on the wash cycle's clock. Tell us your window and we will confirm it before you accept bookings.
Who supplies the linens and consumables for a short-term rental turnover?
Either side can, as long as the approved quote says which. Linens are laundered in the unit, managed by you, or handled through another separately agreed arrangement. Keeping spare sets per bed on site makes tight windows easier. Supplies work the same way: you supply the essentials and the quote states who stocks them.
What happens if a guest leaves the place trashed?
Photographs document visible damage or lost items identified during the turnover, taken before anything is touched. Whether to pursue a claim is your decision. If the condition materially differs from the approved scope, the Rejuv Cleaning office explains the difference and issues a revised written quote before additional paid work is performed.
Can a cleaner report damage and send photos before the next guest arrives?
Yes. Photographs document visible damage or lost items identified during the turnover, and the walk-through photos happen first, before any cleaning starts, so the record stays intact. Staged photos, low-stock notes and repair flags are included when they are part of the approved scope.
Do you clean on holidays and weekends when bookings peak?
Turns on weekends, holidays and event weekends are scheduled when the calendar allows. Holiday and late-night turns are booked ahead, not on demand. Send your dates early for peak times and the office confirms the slots in writing.
How do you handle back-to-back same-day bookings?
Same-day turnovers are scheduled when possible. The approved quote and confirmed schedule state the service timing and whether the requested checkout-to-check-in window can be accommodated. Linens must be on site or washed ahead, so the turn does not wait on a wash cycle.
